What We Do
Iconic Audio offers world-class audio mixing and mastering packages for musicians with home and project studios.
Project-based studios are great for capturing your creativity and give you the freedom to record without the pressure of the studio clock. However, recordings made in them usually lack the professionalism needed to make your song, EP or album artistically and commercially competitive.
That's where we come in. Iconic Audio brings together two of San Diego's most sought-after audio specialists — mix engineer Kyle Thompson and mastering engineer Paul Abbott — to make sure your tracks hold their own against music recorded in big-name studios.
Who We Are
Kyle Thompson received his formal audio training in Los Angeles and has been producing music for the last 15 years.
His clientele ranges from Top 40 artists to indie rock bands, and includes Akon, Unwritten Law, Apes of Wrath, The Modlins and Publicists.
» Kyle's studio arsenal includes ProTools 9, Mackie HR824 high-resolution monitors, Beyerdynamic DT770 headphones, Benchmark's DAC-1 D/A converter-monitor controller, and digital processing by Waves, Antares, Wavearts, URS, Lexicon, and Massey.

Paul Abbott, owner of ZenMastering, built his reputation as a mastering engineer by working with artists across the U.S. and around the globe.
Paul's client list include recordings by Mike Mills (R.E.M.), James Sonefeld (Hootie & the Blowfish), and a veritable who's who of San Diego-based artists.
Paul has also been featured in pro audio magazines such as EQ, Tape Op, Sound on Sound, and Music Connection and has been a voting member of the Audio Engineering Society since 2003.
